Michael D'Angelo, NRP
Firefighter/Paramedic, Fairfax County Fire & Rescue
Michael D’Angelo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Kean University and is a Nationally Registered Paramedic and Critical Care Paramedic. He is a graduate of the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department’s in-house paramedic program through Virginia Commonwealth University and has served with the department for the past four years.
Prior to his career in emergency medical services, Michael served as a police officer with the United States Capitol Police for six years. He later made the decision to step away from law enforcement to focus on caring for his son, who was born with significant medical complexities.
During this time, Michael dedicated himself fully to his son’s care, supporting him through specialized schooling, therapy sessions, and home-based developmental work. His son was diagnosed prenatally with multiple congenital heart conditions and neurological challenges, and Michael’s advocacy and involvement played a vital role in his growth and progress.
Through this experience, Michael gained invaluable insight into pediatric care, family-centered support, and resilience. These personal and professional experiences continue to shape his compassionate approach to patient care and his dedication to serving individuals and families facing complex medical challenges.
